I’m Kayla Smith. I work 1:1 with adults across the US who are tired of fighting their bodies and ready to figure out what comes next.
An intuitive eating coach is a practitioner trained in the Intuitive Eating framework — the evidence-based approach developed by registered dietitians Evelyn Tribole and Elyse Resch — who works with clients on rebuilding their relationship with food, hunger, body, and eating patterns.
A coach is not a therapist (we don’t treat clinical mental health conditions) and not a dietitian (we don’t prescribe meals or treat medical conditions). What we do is the structured, supported work of unlearning diet culture and rebuilding a more peaceful relationship with food.
My practice is built on three things:
I won’t prescribe. I won’t put you on a diet. I won’t weigh you. I work with you on your relationship with food, body, hunger, and the patterns that have defined your eating for years.
Most chronic dieters have tried to figure this out on their own. They’ve read the books. They’ve listened to the podcasts. They’ve followed the right Instagram accounts. And they still get stuck.
The reason isn’t that the information is hard to find. It’s that diet culture lives in your nervous system. Reading about intuitive eating doesn’t undo decades of internalized rules. Doing the work — with someone who can see your patterns from outside and help you name them — usually moves things in months that would take years alone.
Coaching also means accountability and continuity. The work isn’t a one-time decision. It’s an ongoing practice. Having someone in your corner who knows your story makes the practice possible in a different way.
I’m trained in the Intuitive Eating framework. I’m HAES-aligned. My practice is grounded in Motivational Interviewing. I wrote Diet Dropout: An Intuitive Eating Workbook. I work entirely virtually with clients across the US.
